Who Makes A Better Ice Cream Sandwich? The Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX HD Vs. The LG Optimus G
Android’s phone operating system is one of the most popular in the world today, and with good reason. Android phones are usually fast, reliable and decently priced. Moreover, Android’s are easily customisable and can be programmed to suit your needs, which is a lot harder with an Apple or a Windows phone. But there are a lot of great Android devices on the market, and choosing between them can be difficult. Even if two phones are similarly priced and run the same version of the Android system, there still may be huge differences between them. We’re looking at the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX HD and the LG Optimus G. Both phones retail at around the same price point, and both run Android’s 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. But we wanted to know exactly how they compare and what their differences are, so we put them to the test. And one phone came out on top. If you’re looking for a great new phone, then read on to find out which of these two devices we recommend.
Why You Should Buy the LG Optimus G…
The Optimus has an awful lot going for it. It is the faster phone. The Optimus runs double the RAM of the Motorola, making it more responsive and better equipped to handle running multiple processes at the same time or multi-tasking in general. It also has a better screen. The screen resolution on the Optimus is around ten per cent higher than that of the Droid, making for a clearer and brighter picture. Plus, you get a better camera. The built in camera on the Optimus is a massive 13 MP, as compared to the regular 8 MP cam on the Droid. That means that photos taken on the Optimus are simply better quality and have more fine detail than those taken by the Motorola. Lastly, although both phones have the same screen size, the Optimus comes in smaller. It’s around ten per cent thinner than the Motorola, and ten per cent lighter too, weighing in at just 145 g versus the Droid’s 157 g. So the Optimus is just that much more portable and easy to carry in your pocket.
The Advantages of the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX HD…
The Droid really only has one big advantage over the Optimus, it has better battery life. The Motorola averages around twenty one hours of talk time per battery charge cycle as compared to the Optimus’s fifteen hours. That’s a difference of around forty per cent and means that you need to charge your phone much less often. Other than that though, there are no other clear advantages to owning the Droid.
Which One Do You Recommend?
Our recommendation goes with the LG Optimus G. It’s faster, has a better screen, a better camera as well as being smaller than the Droid whilst keeping the same screen size. In our view, that makes it a better buy that the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX HD.
